Another new letter to the church at Pergamos is introduced this week, and once again the Lord warns that Satan has infiltrated His church–this is the third time in a row, making it quite clear how strongly the devil is attempting to control humanity. But rest assured, the Lord promises that one day Satan will be permanently bound–never to harm another person again!

We explore the fourth letter to the churches in Asia Minor, and once again the Lord Jesus Christ brings to the listener’s awareness a character from the Old Testament, as a contrast. This time it is a woman–a queen who is the epitome of evil.

Welcome back to letter number five to the church at Sardis. We discover in the letter this week that there is no initial compliment–as there was for the first four churches. Instead, we find a church who has self-inflicted difficulties. From the outside, the church at Sardis appears to be one way, but is actually the total opposite.

This week we learn about the church at Philadelphia, a church that the Lord Jesus Christ deeply loves, as we see by the identifiers He chooses. Once again, we have a letter where the recipient church does not receive any type of correction–instead, Jesus tells them to hang on, and then makes them a special promise.

In the Lord Jesus Christ’s final church letter we learn about Laodicea, a church that causes the Lord to be sick. He wants to vomit these congregations out of His mouth, but He warns them first, in hopes they will turn around and recognize their unfaithfulness.

In Revelation, chapter 5 we witness the opening of the scroll of all scrolls–the Deed to Earth–that was forfeited by Adam in the Garden of Eden. We learn that this scroll can only be opened by a special person who must be a kinsman of Adam, someone who is capable, willing, and who could assume all the obligations to the beneficiary. He is none other than the One who was, and is, and is to come.

In Revelation, chapter 6 the Lord Jesus Christ opens six of the seven seals on the Deed to Earth. These seals furnish an overview of the events that occur during the 7-year Tribulation and reveal what life will be like on earth after God’s Church and the restrainer are removed—and the one world leader takes control.

Revelation chapter 7 takes a small break in the narrative to answer the question raised at the end of chapter 6–“who is able to survive?” The response reveals two people groups that God separates out of the Tribulation, but only the first group survives the entire time period.

And so it begins in Revelation, chapter 8. For 3.5 years millions of God’s people have been brutalized, hunted, persecuted, and martyred. And God does not contain His wrath any longer. He hurls His vengeance upon the people of earth with natural judgements first, and then allows the demonic plagues.

The vast difference between natural and demonic events are contrasted in Revelation, chapter 9 when God gives the keys of hell to Satan and he releases two demonic armies who torture and kill anyone who is not sealed with the mark of the Living God. It gets so bad, that after the sixth Trumpet Judgement, half the world’s population is dead.

This time we get a glimpse of the sweetness of the Lord Jesus Christ’s Second Coming, and the bitterness of having to wait for that precious event.

In Revelation, chapter 11 we continue the pause between the sixth and seventh Trumpet Judgements as John expounds upon the two witnesses who testify regarding the Lord Jesus Christ.

As we continue in Revelation, chapter 12 we are still between the sixth and seventh Trumpet Judgements, as John continues to define the players involved in the Great Tribulation. We meet the beautiful pregnant woman who is instrumental to God’s final plan, and we also get a closer look at her arch rival, as John fully describes Satan’s identity. Additionally, John provides the historical relationship between Satan and Israel, and how angry he becomes when he doesn’t get his way.

In Revelation, chapter 13 John introduces Antichrist and gives his description and where he gets his power. We learn that someone kills him, but he is supernaturally revived. Then John introduces us to the false prophet, and we discover Satan’s attempt at a false trinity made up of these three–but they cannot compete against the Triune Godhead!

In Revelation, chapter 14 John foreshadows God’s judgement upon the earth, and His resulting wrath and vengeance. Keep in mind we are still between the sixth and seventh Trumpet Judgements, and anyone learning about God’s plans through Revelation right now can see that God is still providing His amazing grace to the world. Once the Tribulation and Great Tribulation arrive, all those who chose against God will be judged by God, and they will experience His wrath. Oh, that prior to the Tribulation, the wise will heed His Word, and come to Him, for this is the deep desire of the LORD God Almighty.

Now we continue with Revelation, chapters 15 and 16, where the seventh Trumpet Judgement introduces the seven Bowl Judgements. The Bowls are God’s final wrath upon earth, for not one earth dweller who chooses 666 will be allowed to live, because every one of them harms God’s people. God does not tolerate the murder of His people, and He sends His wrath to punish those who do.

In the previous chapter of Revelation God has thoroughly dealt with the origin of evil and its affects upon earth dwellers. Now God dives headlong into the world’s false religious systems and how their clergy lead people to worship other humans or ‘things’, and not God. In Revelation, chapter 17 we meet the whore who, for millennia, has swept mankind away from God’s will.

As we move closer to the final chapters in Revelation, chapter 18 describes God’s destruction of Babylon, which is Satan’s governmental, financial and commercial capital. Babylon is the last holdout before the final battle, for Rome lies in ruins, and people are being force-marched into Israel to meet their fate in the Battle of Armageddon.
