Decay…which leads to death.
Nothing in this world can escape it. Not gold, or silver, or precious gems. Nor man-made things like concrete and steel.
Man himself is corruptible (the archaic sense—as in a state of decaying), along with the powerful beasts he attempts to control.
Nothing can outlast the Law of Increasing Entropy.
In the end it will all be burned away (2 Peter 3:10).
So what is incorruptible?
What is pure?
What can we rely upon that will forever survive the fire purification?
The incorruptible Word of God will live and abide forever (1 Peter 1:23) and we along with it…
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, (but) reserved in heaven (for us)…” (1 Peter 1:3-4).
