HE LEFT A ROAD MAP

…a Way to find Him that leaves no doubt about the correct path to take:

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.

Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on My account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven; for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”

Not only a road map, but listed in specific order. If someone wants to find the Lord, and follow Him, this is the list they should seek.

Jesus asked twelve common men to follow Him, and then spent three years teaching them. Through Him these men changed the world forever.

How common were they? Several were fishermen. A tax collector. A student of John the Baptist. There were women, too. All left their lives behind to join His ministry. None were special. None stood out in any particular way. Some wrote down what they learned, that we could learn, too. Others did not, and yet we still learn from them. All but one lived incredibly changed lives after Jesus ascended.

Some we barely know—Bartholomew/Nathaniel, James the less, Thaddeus/Jude, Simon the Zealot—yet they are great in the Kingdom of Heaven. One day we will have the opportunity to hear their stories.

All eleven went into the world, teaching the Good News. All were persecuted. Except for John, all died horrible deaths. But they knew they would be reunited with Him, lovingly gathered into His arms upon their arrival home.

His road map reached multitudes back then—it still does to this day…

Matthew 5:3. Amen.
