First it speaks of God’s great goodness and how He yearns for His people to come back to Him, to show their reverence, and righteousness, and obedience to Him. (It’s SO EASY! Except for…pride and egotism)
When Israel repeatedly rejected Him, God mourned, then He warned, and then He demanded they return.
They did not.
He cried out to the Israelites, “seek the Lord that you may live…”
They did not.
God reminds the Israelites that He created Pleiades and Orion. He changes dark to light every morning. He calls for the waters of the sea to pour out over the land as rain.
He tells the Israelites to seek good and not evil, that they may live. God would be with them.
He tells them to hate evil.
Love good.
Establish justice.They did not.
Instead they “reclined on beds of ivory, ate lambs and calves, listened to harps and wrote songs about their pridefulness. They drank wine and anointed themselves with the finest oils.”
They worshiped everything under the sun EXCEPT God.
So God let them. He stopped protecting His people. “I will spare them no longer.”
They ramped up.
They trampled the needy.
They were unjust.
They sold people as slaves.
They governed for money.
They sacrificed their children to Satan.
And it all caught up with them.
“Many will be the corpses, in every place they will cast them forth in silence.”
“Behold the eyes of the Lord God are on the sinful kingdom.”
“For the day of the Lord draws near on all the nations. As you have done, it will be done to you. Your dealings will return on your own head.”
Apply all of this👆🏼 as a warning to America .
