MECHANICS OF DECISION MAKING

There was a time in human history when people KNEW how to make a decision (the mechanics thereof). They observed. They calculated. They used logic. They compared. Quickly. Instantly. Correctly.

They trusted their innate inner ability to KNOW. They were connected to their environment (animals—wild and domestic—the lay of the land, the sky, clouds, water, plants). They physically felt in their inner being any changes that occurred around them. They accurately relied on every sense to understand the invisible intents of nature—in ways unknown to modern man.

WHY?

Because their decision making process was God gifted…

Today we incorrectly call it ‘intuition’…as modern man refuses to identify this God-gifted process for what it truly is.

WHY?

Because we have strayed so far from God…to the point of absolute rejection.

So exactly what is this thing?

It is God truth, knowledge, wisdom, and discernment—and the love of the truth of God’s knowledge, which is always available.

 Never wrong.
      Fully dependable.
And freely given to those who deny themselves and believe in Him.

The end result of denying this truth results in what we see today—the worship of self, animals, and other things. All things that separate people from God’s gift of true decision making using His knowledge, wisdom, and discernment.

ICR describes the historical changes that occurred as people rejected God, and what God did about it.

Proverbs 6:6-8—

Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, provide her meat in the summer, and gathers her food in the harvest.

Adam and Eve originally were given dominion over all the animal creation (Genesis 1:26), but sin came in and things changed. Then, after the Flood, God placed the fear and dread of man “upon all that moveth upon the earth” (Genesis 9:2), and the primeval fellowship between man and his animal friends was broken.

More seriously, their fellowship with God was broken, and soon, in their autonomy, the source of true wisdom was largely forgotten. “Professing themselves to bear wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made likened to corruptible man, and to birds, and four footed beasts, and creeping things” (Romans 1:22-23).

Ironically, God now directs such foolish people to the animals they worship to find the wisdom they should have learned from Him. “Go to the ant,” says the Lord, to learn industry and prudence. “There be four things which are little upon the earth,” the Word says, ““but they are exceeding wise: the ants…the cronies…the locusts…the spider” (Proverbs 30:24-28). “The ox knows his owner, and the ass his master’s crib: but Israel does not know, My people do not consider” (Isaiah 1:3).

“But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee: or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee” (Job 12:7-8).

If nothing else, the intricate design of even the lowest animal is eloquent testimony to the wisdom of its Creator and the madness of those who deny Him. But gaining truth, knowledge, wisdom, and discernment FROM THE ALMIGHTY CREATOR is far more beneficial than attempting to receive it from elsewhere.

Amen.
