WHAT HE DESIRES

In the beginning God spoke into existence everything we see, hear, touch, smell, taste, and know.

This may be unfathomable, beyond comprehension information, and yet He spoke—and the heavens, earth, darkness, water, light, the expanse, seas, land, plants, sun, moon, stars, fish, birds, living creatures, and finally, humans were made.

God created this magnificently beautiful, majestic, exalted, and blemish-free earth out of His love for mankind. At that time, earth was as pure as God is, and He gifted His entire work to man.

Then He blessed Adam and Eve and told them to be fruitful and multiply and subdue the earth. He gave them authority to rule over all that He created. God declared man steward of His perfection—fully recognizing they would fail.

And so, the Triune Godhead devised a salvation plan for humanity, desiring that “all men be saved and come to the knowledge of truth” (1 Timothy 2:4). In great love for His creation, God sent His Son as a Sacrifice—not for the few—for everyone. And out of amazing, incomprehensible, unfathomable love, the Lord Jesus Christ agreed to this plan.

But in the end, God does not get what He desires mostto save every single person that ever was, is, and ever will be.

Because most people reject Him, choosing instead to take the broad road (Matthew 7:13-14) that leads away from Him, and to destruction. They reject that “there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all” (1 Timothy 2:5).

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.” John 3:16-17

Amen.
